I think that's a really accurate reflection of things. We were eating at a restaurant when they aired the clips of Kumaritashvili's crash (over and over and over...). I found it a bit grotesque, but especially after being an EMT for several years, it didn't affect me for more than a few seconds. Other people in the restaurant winced, but mostly seemed to go back to eating right away. On another note, I might be imagining things, but I think HuffPost may have taken down one of the pictures... I remember there was one of Kumaritashvili, bloodied and with his eyes wide open. That one freaked me out, but I don't think it's up anymore. That's the kind of thing they need to show kids in driver's ed. Anyway, that's my stream of consciousness for tonight.
